Who Are Our Patients?

Children

Beginning at the age of 7, as recommended by the American Association of Orthodontists, children begin to show problem areas that benefit from early treatment. We don't advocate comprehensive orthodontic treatment at age 7, but there are many early interceptive treatments that can have real benefits.  Dr. Brown uses functional ortheopedic appliances to correct large overbites and cemented expanders to increase space and help improve breathing.

Teens

Orthodontic care for teens includes treatments for misaligned teeth and jaws using conventional braces and Invisalign®.

Adults

1 in 4 orthodontic patients are adults. Anyone can benefit from orthodontic treatment. Many adults choose orthodontic care.

Treatments

Early Braces

Orthodontic treatment in young children is known as interceptive care, and it can begin as early as  6 or 7.

Orthodontic Braces

There are a lot of treatment options these days, from retainers to clear aligners to invisible, metal, ceramic and micro braces.

Braces & Expansions

The purpose of braces and expansions is to create a healthy environment for permanent teeth that will be coming in. Only a few orthodontic problems need correction while a child has baby teeth (overbite, cross bite, open bite, severe crowding.

Invisalign®

These are removable clear plastic teeth aligners and they are virtually invisible.

Jaw Surgery

One treatment option for patients with a severe functional bone imbalance is a combination of comprehensive braces combined with jaw surgery to obtain the best and the most stable correction.

TMJ/TMD Care

Temporo-mandibular dysfunction, TMD or TMJ, is a condition that causes pain in the jaw and facial muscles, usually due to unconscious clenching or grinding of the teeth.

Oral Hygiene

You, your orthodontist and your family dentist are now a team. You all want the same thing – for you to have a healthy smile with beautiful white, straight teeth.

Braces Vs. Invisalign®

Orthodontic treatment (braces) straighten teeth, create a beautiful smile, and a good bite - meaning straight teeth that mesh well with the teeth in the opposite jaw and look great. A good bite makes it easier for you to bite, chew and speak. With today's technology braces treatment time range from 6-24 months.

Invisalign® is a method for tooth movement that is not too complicated. A set of clear, computer-generated trays is worn 24 hours a day with change-outs every week. One of its best advantages is that the trays are relatively invisible. Invisalign® treatment can be expected to work more efficiently for esthetic purposes rather than for the purpose of improving the functionality of the teeth.

Do it yourself treatment can cause lasting damage. Whether you are considering clear aligners or traditional braces, only seek treatment under the direct supervision of an AAO orthodontist.

During new patient exams we pull up our website and show examples of treatments (specifically) patient photos.
