About Dr. Garvey

“Dr. Michael V. Garvey is a dentist who specializes in orthodontics. In 1978, Dr. Garvey received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Missouri Dental School in Kansas City. He went on to St. Louis University where he earned his Masters in the Graduate Orthodontic Program in 1980. He is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Orthodontic Education and Research Foundation, Washington University Orthodontic Study Group, a past founder of the St. Peter Dental Study Group and is a certified Diplomat of the American Board of Orthodontics. He teaches general dentist and orthodontic residences.

He treats adults, children, patients with TMD, and patients with sleep apnea. Dr. Garvey is an avid Bible student, reader and teacher and enjoys an in-depth understanding of Biblical truth. He has a peace of mind and happiness that can only result from a close loving relationship with Jehovah. He enjoys gardening; in fact, he did the water garden and landscaping at his office largely himself.

He also enjoys photography and has now gone digital. All the photos in his web site, newsletters, and slide show seen on the office plasma TVs show his work. He volunteers his time in conservation and environmental issues. He is a board member of Greenway Network and is a leader in a Stream Team called “Garvey’s Crawdads”.

He is a past president of Youth in Need, an adolescent care center, and a past president of the St. Charles Countians Against Hazardous Waste, a citizen group with oversight of the DOE clean-up at Weldon Springs. He was one of the few loyal dentists who convinced St. Charles County government to adjust the fluoride level of the local water supply for optimum dental health.
